The Cisco IPS 4270 is the latest from the Cisco Security Technology Group which is responsible for the Security portfolio. The Cisco 4270 appliance along with the Cisco IPS 6.0 software enables high performance intrusion prevention.

The Cisco IPS 4270 scales upto 4 Gbps of throughput which enables it to be deplyed in the campus as well as in the datacenter.

This 4 RU unit can support from 4 to 16 10/100/1000 Copper/Fiber interfaces. The IPS 4270 comes built with redundant power supplies as well as supports hardware bypass for copper interfaces.

This sensor can be deployed either in an inline IPS mode or in an out-of-band promiscous IDS mode. The Cisco IPS 4270 can be used with the Cisco Security MARS system for comprehensive monitoring and reporting.
